Guest Curator: Rachelle Viader Knowles
Rachelle Viader Knowles is an artist/academic, and Associate Head of School (International) for Art and Design at Coventry University. Her creative practice explores translocality, dialogue as art, and artistic practices/methods developed through participation, collaboration and networks. Her works have been performed, screened, found, played, encountered, read or heard in numerous international venues including: Conflux, and the Experimental Text Festivals in New York; Three Walls Gallery in Chicago; Residencia Corazon Gallery in La Plata, Argentina; Chapter Gallery in Cardiff, Wales; the Kwangju Biennale in South Korea; YYZ Gallery in Toronto, the Berlin International Film Festival; the Gyumri Biennale in Armenia; and the Can Gelabert Cultural Centre in Mallorca. In 2007 she was a finalist for the Sobey Art Award, Canada’s contemporary art prize. She is an active member of the international advisory board for the Armenian Art Centre of Social Studies based in Yerevan, Armenia.
Previous to her current role at Coventry University, Rachelle served as Head of Visual Arts at the University of Regina in Saskatchewan, Canada from 2010 – 2014. She holds an MFA in Visual Arts from the University of Windsor in Ontario Canada, and a BA (Hons) in Interactive Arts from the University of Wales. She is currently undertaking practice-led PhD research on the topic of translocal approaches to dialogue-based art, through the Transart Institute and Plymouth University.

Guest Curator: Rebecca Beinart
Rebecca Beinart is an artist and educator.She holds a BA in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University and an MA in Arts and Ecology at Dartington School of Art. Her projects explore the territories between art, ecology and politics and take the form of live events, installations and interventions in public places. Rebecca crafts particular objects and situations which open up a space for interaction or conversation, working with the multiple agents and stories that make up a place. Recent projects include the Bureau of Urban Wilds, a commission for UP Projects ‘Secret Garden Project Lewisham’ (2013) and ‘Recreation Ground’, an exhibition curated by Wasteland Twinning Nottingham.
Commissioned projects in public sites have included work with The Architecture Centre, Bristol (2009), Hinterland, Nottingham (2009), Radar, Loughborough (2010), Artsadmin, London (2011) and UP Projects, London (2013). She has worked on independent community projects; worked in schools with Creative Partnerships; taught in FE colleges and Universities; supported an ambitious public engagement project at Arnolfini (Bristol); and has worked with the Wasteland Twinning Network over the past two years, generating ongoing research and public events that explore politics and imagination around changing urban spaces.
Rebecca is currently a freelance practitioner and the Engagement Curator at PRIMARY.

Guest Curator: Viviana Checchia
Viviana Checchia is an independent curator, critic, and PhD candidate at Loughborough University (UK).She currently lives between Loughborough and Bari where she just founded vessel, not for profit space, together with Anna Santomauro.She worked as assistant curator for Eastside Projects, not for profit space based in Birmingham (UK)where she researched and assisted in curating the shows Abstract Cabinet Show(26 September to 8 November 2009); Liam Gillick Two Short Plays(27 November 2009 to 23 January 2010); and she curated two public events Passangen and Video screening about East ; and she edited Fuck Book (2009) Declan Clarke & Paul McDevitt Published by Eastside Projects, Birmingham.She presented Eastside Projects limited edition for National Network | A View – Limited Edition Prints and Print Portfolios at V&A. Her projects as an independent curator include Back to Rome,solo show by Angelo Castucci (2010);There’s something to this (but I don’t know what it is) a solo show by Helen Brown at Nitra Gallery- Slovakia(2010)and Twist, curatorial project co-curated with Eleonora Farina at uqbar, 91mQ, Golden Parachutes and Hungarian Institute of Culture (2011) among others; she organized a serie of talks and screenings dedicated to art and social change as well as art in Eastern European countries.
She is co-curating with Anna Santomauro 1hart, a project in partnership with neon>campobase, non for profit space based in Bologna as well as Green Days a project funded by ECF. She has curated during few months MUG10/6 an home gallery experiment at her own flat in Trento (2008-9).She presented for 2video undo a slovak videoart selection. She has finished her Master in Culture Management at tsm school in Trento, Italy (2009). Her interests include Eastern European contemporary art.She has devoted herself to a research on the development of the contemporary art system in Slovakia for two years, thanks to a grant of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She took part of the European Course for Contemporary Art Curators in Milan arranged by the Province of Milan and the Fondazione Antonio Ratti (2009), as well as to the AICA International Summer Seminar Program of Art (2009) and the Gwangju Foundation Course for International Curators (2010).
